I'm attemting to repair a 4 in 1 rc helicopter controller and need to know if I can find a suitable replacement for a diode that smoked, it is available at Digikey part #SS24-E3/51TGI a 2 AMP 40V SMB. It doesn't have to be surface mount as I can solder a regular diode in it's place, I'm just wondering IF there is a replacement I might find to use, I don't think radio shack carries anything anymore other than resistors.

Thanks, banjomaniac

hi,
This should be equivalent.

FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR|S2A|BRIDGE RECTIFIER, 2A, 50V | Farnell UK

Do you know what 'Smoked' the diode in the first place?

If you don't and the fault hasn't been rectified, whatever the cause was will probably give a similar result....
