Digital volt meter circuit

This is a very basic volt meter. But the question is why does it not count properly as you put in 5v and get 6 or 7v on the display. So what is wrong ?.

Thats because the timebase (square wave pulses) is not calibrated to proper value. Play around with it until you get exact display of what you are giving at the input.
