I just got this thing here https://enda.com/en/automation/potentiometer/edp2041/ and I have no idea how it works. The manual doesn't help. I managed to turn it on by attaching a power supply to (1) and (2). I'm getting readings between 8-12V and 20mA when testing (7) and (9) with a Multimeter. I expected this thing to work much simpler, as in: Plug (-) wire to one socket, plug (+) wire to other socket, set Resistance in Ohms and good to go because that's all I need it to do.

I do not see where it can do resistance. I see that it does voltage and current.

That's what I thought. Why is it labelled as a "Potentiometer" then?

A potentiometer is a 'component', this is a complete piece of industrial equipment, presumably designed for a specific purpose - so it's very poorly labelled.

I agree, it's poorly labeled.

There are digital pots available, but they're not as flexible in actual use as a discrete pot. What are you planning to do with it?
