Decent GP Opamp

Hi all:
I am looking at moving to using LT1013 D spec opamp as a std replacement for the LM358/324 jellybean units for better performance circuits.
It seems to have the voltage range and overall better specs.

Yes it is Better, But Still OLD Technology from their 1992 Data Book.
Depends on what Circuit and what performance you expect from it!

Its hard to find an up_to_date replacement with more oomph and simultaneously match the jellybean price of the LM358. I guess we need to know the answer to crutschow post #3 before going op-amp picking.

Incidentally, compare the slew rates of LM358, TLC272 and the LT1637.
The TLC272 goes for 29 cents apiece:
