On the stungun schematic on the other forum it calls for a 1k 200k CT Input Transformer.

A) What does a transformer do?

B) what does CT Input mean?

Probably trivial questions... just a n00bie.

thanks
david

the CT probably means a center tapped input. That's my guess.

Now on what a transformer does. Well it does many things. It could be used as an isolation device, or to step up or down voltages. It could give you multiple outputs if needed. If you want to learn more, pick up a basic electronic book. Or do a general search on transformer basics or something to that effect.

CT also means Current Transformer (but not here) so don't get confused when you read CT somewhere else.
