Converting 120vac motor to be reverseable

Hey guys i'm back. I have an ac motor that I know is able to be wired for reverse rotation. It has instructions to do so on a piece of paper but it is so old that part of it is not legable. It has 2 pairs of wires that the 2 line wires connect to. Do I just need to split the pairs and wire them to a switch that will allow me to switch the pairs back and forth to make it reverseable and have the line wies on a seperate on/off switch? The idea is to use the motor on my winch. I have a gear reduction box already to hook to the motor and winch. My arms and shoulders can't get any bigger, now they are just getting worn out. I can't crank this winch by hand any more. Thanks in advance for any help and thanks for all your help with my electromagnet. It is now being used for demonstrations at the college that I attend.

Even so, if you could scan or photograph the paper and the bits that are legible, that may help.
Also picture of the connection box and the terminals may help.

All this assumes that you have a suitable camera of course. ;)

Can I run 1 wire from each connection to a switch to make it reverseable?
 
Not much to go on, but you have to reverse the start winding only.

Clues are: Capcitor in series, centripital switch, and/or lower guage wire.

there are motors that require a capacitor to run.

Motors with centripital switches, click as they are spinning down. Capacitor start/run motors have a capacitor.

So, identify the windings. Find out which goes to the switch or capacitor or a smaller wire gauge.

if you use an ohmmeter on the capacitor winding, you should get a "blip".

Once you get the wiring sorted out, a drum switch https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/63748891?fromRR=Y is USUALLY used. My recollection is that they require a stop before going to the "other" direction.

I had to replace a hoist switch which, I think, was a 3PDT (ON)-OFF-(ON) switch. What a mess. e.g https://canada.newark.com/carling-technologies/hm25l-73/switch/dp/73H2595 Limit switches were used in the system too.

That's the setup I was looking for. The paper I found inside the motor said "To reverse rotation interchange yellow --------". The dashes are the missing piece of the puzzle. I'm guessing it's "wires". There are 2 yellow wires and 2 white/red wires.
