The internet and the datasheets show how those simple ICs are used.
Your teacher should have showed you.

hi..

hi sir,

we are really having a hard time looking for the configuration in the internet that's why i posted here to ask for help.. tnx for the reply.. :)

hi,
Goto www.datasheetarchive.com

Search for 555 and CD4017, download the free datasheets.

To add to Eric's post, go to google and search for:

"555 datasheet"
"555 tutorial"
"4017 datasheet"
"4017 tutorial"

You should find lots of specific information in the datasheets, and lots of how-to information in the tutorials.

Good luck!

Arien you did not tell what lights to control so I thought they were small & cheapy LED’s so I give you these ones. LED DOT moving & HOLE moving circuits all over the internet you should try something different but applies the same principle.

Lighthouse project (4017 & 555)

Traffic light project (4017 & 555)

LED dice project (4017 & 555)

hi sir..

the system is supposed to be implemented inside rest rooms..
and we will be controlling flourescent lights..

tnx a lot..

Controlling fluorescent lights?? Inside rest rooms??
You forgot to tell us what the 555 oscillator and CD4017 sequencer are supposed to do with the lights. Make a chaser light pattern on the ceiling??
