college student needs help from experts

Hi

I am a CS college student with Digital Systems lab this yr. I need to do a project involving any or as many of the following : adders,subtractors,flip flops,demultiplexers,multiplexers,decoders,encoders,ripple counters.
Cna anyone please suggest good, impressable,not too easy, not too tough , getting good credits project?

A digital alarm clock or scrolling message display would cover most of what you need but if you really want the extra credit and have sufficient time you could make an old style desktop calculator. :twisted: :lol:


Sadly schematics are quite scarce for such a common piece of everyday hardware but a few "vintage" circuits can be found here.
