Climategate: "Hide the Decline"

You still dont catch it huh? :(
This thread is in the area of sea level changes and so I asked a simple question about if anyone had any places that they may want to recommend as to where would be an interesting place to visit and go diving at.:D

So how many sunken ancient city ruins or constructions are there to dive at in the world now that are under 2000 years old that are located in 50 feet or less of water along ocean coastal lines firmly attached to continental plates that would not have allowed for geological subsidence to account for their submersion?
I think every populated continent has a few.

Just asking from an amateur scuba divers perspective of fun places to visit. :)

Figure it out yet?
Its in bold print and large letters in the last sentence. What your made of it from there had nothing to do with this thread in any exacting specifics.
What I have gotten from what I have read up on this subject since that post has suggested that given the estimated sea level rises since the last ice age there should be many. Unfortunately the older ones are what get the publicity not the more recent ones. I want to see the more recent and less known ruins.:)

For my next post, see the part that starts out with an 'IF' and is in bold print and that ends in a question mark and a confused face. That means I am not sure and I am in a way asking for someone to confirm it.:)
You picked it up and ran with it so I said this in the next post.

Thats my whole point! The sea levels changed considerably within a measurable human history time frame and with strong supportive evidence that we had nothing to do with it! :D

If the ruins dated back to around 3000 years ago or less are under 50 feet of water or less and the ruins dated back to 1500 years ago or less are under 25 feet of water or less doesn't the supporting math work out to an average sea level change that is about right in the estimated yearly averages for whats being claimed now?

What I am referring to is 'a measurable human history time frame' is that the 5000 year and sooner time frame is considered somewhat recorded historical time and that in the last 5000 years there has also been a roughly 100 foot sea level rise. If that change in level over that time period is factored against the present geological data relating to the last ice age you get a fairly accurate correlation. So in 5000 years and 100 feet of sea level change there will be some cities and coastal dwellings that got submerged.
I never implied that I knew of any and have yet to imply that I personally know of any still! :)

Since you are apparently needing it spelled out further, I am planning to make a trip over seas this winter, if possible, and am a amateur scuba diver that is only certified to 100 feet depth. Personally I prefer 50 feet or less! Thats it, its a general comment question. Not a hypothesis, theory, or scientifically based anything and I have never claimed it to be one! :)

What you made of it from there is where the thread went. I lead nothing into or out of it. ;)

I am not a geologist, scientist, researcher, ecologist or even a very good diver or writer and I make no claims to be any of these. My writing skills are marginal and through this whole thread all I have been doing is cross checking other peoples claims and information and posting links and quotes from sources I considered to be of fair and unbiased in their research so that others may have reference points to work with and thus can make their own decisions when and if anyone does produce any human induced global warming information. :)

I have yet to decide myself if global warming is real or not.
What you and Brownout have posted so far in your defense for global warming is less than convincing being it is easy even for someone like me to cross check it and debunk it or disprove its validity when compared to the global net gain values which are what the whole planet works on. .03% of something is not the whole something. :(

SO get cracking already! My verdict is still out! Produce this undeniable evidence global warming caused by us humans you claim to have. You believe it so let us see what made you so convinced and sure.
We are waiting and I will be checking your work too! :)

So POOP or get off the pot already! :D

Really? Well, I give up then. I'm tired of banging my head against the wall for you.
Have a nice Christmas.

There has been nothing close to 100 feet rise in the last 5000 years. The oceans have only risen a couple meters.

By the mid-Holocene period, 6000-5000 years ago, glacial melting had essentially ceased, while ongoing adjustments of Earth's lithosphere due to removal of the ice sheets gradually decreased over time. Thus, sea level continued to drop in formerly glaciated regions and rise in areas peripheral to the former ice sheets. At many low-latitude ocean islands and coastal sites distant from the effects of glaciation, sea level stood several meters higher than present during the mid-Holocene and has been falling ever since. This phenomenon is due to lithospheric responses to changes in ice and water loading. Water is "siphoned" away from the central equatorial ocean basins into depressed areas peripheral to long-gone ice sheets. Loading by meltwater that has been added to the oceans also depresses far-field continental shelves, tilting the shoreline upward and thus lowering local sea level. Over the past few thousand years, the rate of sea level rise remained fairly low, probably not exceeding a few tenths of a millimeter per year.

Sounds just like what I posted a few back.

Good Pic

That's what happens when I don't get enough sleep and forget to open the door.:p

Anyhow I remember seeing this on the history channel suddenly I was reminded.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piri_Reis_map ( This is not Correct or Accurate )

**broken link removed** ( More Likely Explanation )

Piri Ries Map was mistaken and proven to be actually of the Americas and not Antarctica

OMG! Anthropogenic CO2 emissions are causing the Earth's magnetic field to shift! We are all going to die!!!!!

No. Its the cell phones doing that!

Maybe the earth builds up gas every 10,000 yrs the earth has to flip the north and south poles to relieve it:p

Yes, heaven forbid! Lighthearted chatting on a chat forum!

Yes, Scaed...you can say whatever you want like the rest of us.

It's faith-based science, you either choose to believe, or not. Seems parallel religion pretty close, disbelievers burn for all eternity, believers are rewarded with paradise. And there's the mission to convert the masses. Both have mandates as how a good believer should live their lives, and both have a considerable interest in your paycheck.

Turn, before we all burn...

Here we are at post 371 on page 25 or so. Do I get an apology from Bryan yet? I think my stop signs deserve to be put back into their original posts.

There isn't even a topic anymore, discussion was out the windows about 10 pages of posts ago, and people are so confused about what might be going on that the warm lighthearted banter that I love so much has taken back over again =)

I can with a completely clear conscious safely now say "I told you so"

Wrong. Far from lighthearted, more like dazed and confused.

That would put us on page 15 ( ke5frf Post # 211) and the Bantering raged on.

kv

Edit: I tried to stir the pot but all I did was "Ride" a Dead horse.

I would also add that there are some startling facts about science:

Studies that are done in the scientific community have predefined parameters that trend the results to agree with the original theory of the study. Something like 95% of studies done result in outcomes that were predefined by the study itself. So, its all a setup from the get-go.

IPCC and the “Trick” Climate Audit [Welcome to our new home!]

Open Letter to Steve McIntyre: The 'Highest Order Bit' of Climategate is being ignored by Scientists – WHY?

I only recently caught wind of this. Go check out the pretzel-logic and word-smithing going on at "RealClimate.org". Even in midst of the house of cards tumbling to the floor, the arrogance is amazing.

I've said this before. I believe climate change is real, has a human influence, and responsible mitigation over the short and long term is in order. But economics is equally important. The evidence is here. The top scientist involved have cast their ethics aside to play the role of activist, overplaying the certainties and misrepresenting the accuracies of the data in order to establish political power and engineer tax-payer funded policy to their geo-socialist ends.

Truly amazing.

Isn't it amazing when people get together.

Some of you guys don't want to expand your knowledge! Instead of learning a little about Geology, you ridicule what you don't know!

Like the post I made a while back about the SAA(South Atlantic Anomaly) This and the continental shift, and even pole shift is well documented in Geology and agreed upon by all Geologists but you won't even read or believe what science can explain.

shortbus=Your making an assumption.

I laugh at everyone and anything. What is up with your thoughts about what my intention in that comment. To much time spent behind the monitor can make you silly or worse punchy.

I won't debate it my understanding of this subject is limited but I am familiar with pole shift and drift.

Remember this ?
