Uses of capacitor in electronic circuit

The commonest are:
Power filtering - "smoothing", decoupling and reservoir type applications.

Signal coupling, eg. for audio or RF between stages that have different DC voltage levels.

Timing and tuning - R-C time constants and tuned circuits using an inductor and a capacitor.
