Hi all,
What does it mean when any of the following is written on a disc type capacitor -
P3K3,P1K,472K,B180,222K etc. :?:

Generally, disc capacitors are marked in picofarads (pF). The first two numbers are significant figures, and the third is the multiplier.

eg. 472K = 4700pF
222K = 2200pF
180 = 18pF

Tolerances

In addition, the letter (e.g., "K") that follows the value is the tolerance code. Here's the list:

B = ±0.1pF
C = ± 0.25pF
D = ±0.5pF
E = ±0.25%
F = ±1.0pF
G = ±2%
H = ±2.5%
J = ±5%
K = ±10%
L = ±15%
M = ±20%
N = ±30%
P = -0, +100%
S = -20, +50%
W = -0, +200%
X = -20, +40%
Z = -20, +80%
