The PK2 has no reset button, it does have a bootloader / function button.

THough the busy LED is not working and the reset switch is not functioning properly....
But I'm happy with ya...
Just to clarify, that means you have successfully programmed PICs with it. If the answer is yes, then congratulations. I didn't think it was possible.

Finally which inductor value did you use? Instead of this much retrials, why not go for complete PICKIT2 at Rs3000/- from silicon components

Thanks a lot for finding such a site with a good PCB layout.....I'm struglling for PK2 for 3 months.....still seeing a half success....you can see my complete story here....
I think the Vpp error is caused by a incorrect value of the 680uH indictor.
In my xperience a inductor with >500uH but <900uH inductor will work. YOu can serise a couple of inductors. ie...L=L1+L2+L3+....
If that not works....check the Voltage boosting circuit....the NPN transistor, the signal diode and the capacitor...
keep us knowing and upload some photos
I think the problem isn't in the inductor, i've seen several programmers made with the same inductor in the web and working. It seems to be something related with the current, it's 130mA and drop the Vusb 5v but i cant figure what it is.
