Here is a wiring Diagram for a wavemaker device for aquariums. I don't know squat about electronics (I'm a programmer), but I think I can handle this. I'm assuming that once I order the parts that I can figure out how to solder everything together.

As you can see the part numbers are abour 8 years old. When I look up the MC1455 at Digikey there are 3 of them. Which one do I need for this project? Here is the link https://www.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Criteria?Ref=242433&Site=US&Cat=31523926
Also, anyone know a good URL where I can learn the symbology of wiring diagrams, so I know what I'm looking for in parts catalogs?
Sorry for being a NOOB. I know I can figure this stuff out, I've hacked things together before with wiring diagrams and I'm not afraid to try anything.
