Can I program this microcontroller

I got this P8031AH micro-controller in my electronics junk box. The datasheet says it don't have any internal program memory. However it has 128 bytes of internal data memory.

Is there any way I can write programs by using the data memory and make use of this chip without any external memories?

I wouldn't have thought so, I would imagine it needs external progam memory - either EPROM or PROM.

You will need external EPROM as Nigel though. And other parts. Might be quicker to order samples from Microchip and start there. Pick up a low cost ICD2. Learn on something more current.
