I have a hitachi 20x4 display, a picaxe 40x kit already assembled and a ps/2 keyboard. I would like to create the code to log license plate numbers via the keyboard and then bring them up once i search them and have them displayed on the screen. I realise storing a lot of plate numbers would quickly fill up the pics available space. So should I use and external i2c eeprom?
Thanks!

I would think so. I've used PICAXEs in the past and the 40X should be more than capable with what you're asking of it. And, yes, I would use an external EEPROM. You might also try the PICAXE forums, there are a lot more users over there as well as a lot of archives. PICAXE Forum - Powered by vBulletin
