best starting point

Being new to pics can anybody point me in the right direction to a good tutorial as so many say dont compile this it is only a guide i have a 16f84a and a 16f627 i understand outputs but not yet inputs sorry if this is too basic for you all on here

Do you know how to program and if what language(s)?

Do you have any microprocessor programing experiance?

You mentioned you wanted to use PICs. Do you have hardware to program them?
