Baldor Motor

Hi everyone,

I bought this motor https://www.mrosupply.com/product/26692-Baldor_Electric_Motors-Motors_AC_Motors_Commercial_Motors, but I got it off e-bay instead and its not starting up . Any ideas of what to look for in regards to take it into repair, I don't think the e-bay seller will provide me any kind of warranty.

Does it start if you spin the shaft with your fingers. If so then it's probably the start capacitor.

Just trying to help Vincent, so apologies for butting into your reply Inquisitive, but I couldn't get your web url to open without a bit of manipulation so here's the pdf attached for Vincent

....although as stated above, it most likely is the capacitor (inside the raised metal dome) that is at fault.......definitely worth checking out first.

Was it a faulty starter capacitor?
