Greetings,

First of all, I'm a newbie - I beg forgiveness for the trivial question.

I have a 220 volts, 1100 Watts coffee machine - And I frequently forget to turn it off.

Is it possible to design a circuit that:
1) Detects the machine is powered on
2) waits 10 minutes
3) powers it off

This should be an external circuit, connected between the wall outlet and the coffee machine power cord.

It can use PICs or AVRs, if necessary.

You can buy a plug-in timer that will do this for you. Then you won't have to worry about the safety issues of working w/220V circuits.

Buy a coffee pot that includes the shut-down timer. Mine does....
