Audio Signal to PIC

Hi, kinda new to designing circuits so help me out if you can please.

I want to take an audio signal, check if signal is being transmitted and drive a PIC logic High if it is.
Nothing fancy, I want to send a code this way.

Define 'signal' do you want to detect a simple tone?

The signal will be a simple tone of pulses.

That's meaningless. Do you mean an audio fequency square wave?

You mean pulse of tones like DTMF tones?

Yea a pulse of tones at a given frequency. When a tone is sent out, it should be recognized as a logic 1
