I've tried a search online for a good Assembly starter guide, but 'assembly starters guide' as a search term is too wide, and I can't find anything specific to the 16Fxx controllers.
Does anybody have good links to the 34 commands specifically used in the 16F84 controller? I'm just starting PIC programming...

The commands are all listed on the datasheet, and in the helpfile with MPASM. My tutorials at http://www.winpicprog.co.uk may be helpful to you.

I've printed many pages from the Microchip datasheets, that's enough. The most usefull are the first ones, with memory organisation and the instruction's set.
