This iron has been my favourite for some years. its just a basic iron , but can have a .5mm tip just right for TQFP chips and the like. Anyway my iron element failed and I found a replacement on offer ( discontinued ) at Maplin , half price £2.25 , New iron < £25 depending on PVC / silicone cable . part code is JR55K .
