Another odd one - MinkaAire 84" DC fan horrific grinding noise during failure to accelerate from Speed 1

When you say a known issue - does this mean there are photos of these fan motors somewhere? I have looked all over and cannot find anything, photos, videos, drawings, etc ...
 
Turned up a photo of (supposedly) a DC fan motor showing the magnets - eight in this example. Would the Minka Wire likely look something like this?
