Hi,

Have got a couple of these AC 230v centrifugal EBM fans, and it comes with two different wiring diagrams.

Have got them running ok with the left hand diagram, but not 100% sure about the right hand diagram as the label is rather worn away.

Trying to find out what the actual layout and purpose of the right hand diagram is ?

The guy we got them from suggested it might be to run the fan in reverse ? though thought that type of fan only ran one way by design ??

The coils are ; Black to Grey 50R and Blue to Brown 72R

Could not find any info on the web or EBM /Papst site..

thanks.

Correct. One direction only

It's possible that the alternate wiring might be for an alternate voltage or, perhaps, the addition of a starter capacitor ?

If it was a typical PSC motor, (it does show a capacitor), the windings are often identical, and can be reversed easily.
But there would be little (no) advantage in running a squirrel cage bladed fan backwards!
Max.
