We need to construct a circuit design using LDR for a project. We are required to implement a movie-goer project interfaced through a parallel port. The project should not be all software or hardware but, rather, a comfortable mixture of both. There should be a requirement for real-time control and digital or analog IO.
And the problem is, we don't know how to start it.

What's a "movie-goer" project? Is this supposed to be the theme of your electronics project or something?

Your Digital i/o requirement should be taken care of by the very fact that you're having to interface the finished project to a parallel port on a computer. Get parallel communication between computer and hardware working, and you've accomplished this!

Real time control. Ok, well to incorporate real time control you're going to need to monitor some form of input (Your LDR for example) and then, based on the information obtained from this, output some information to something else. Provided this "monitor, control, output" sequence is done quick enough to easily account for changes on the input device (your LDR) you've accomplished the real-time control aspect of your project.

Other than that you're saying that the project must use an LDR for something. That shouldn't be particularly difficult. What sort of electronics experience do you have, and what sort of software experience do you have? What sort of project are you hoping to do?
