4 wire resistive Touch Panel Control

Hey all,

I am trying to make a 4 wire resistive touch panel control, now i know the theory about how it works, and how to find the X and Y coordinates, though whats really bothering me is how i will go on and make the circuit to interpret all this and get it working, bare in mind that i cant use any A to D converters (i heard there is a simple circuit which can be used instead) nor any microcontrollers

Why can't you use an A/D or microcontroller?

it is required from me to create one without using such parts, otherwise it would be very to easy to create.
