Lets see the schematic on what you plan to do so far. You need a diode in reverse with the relay coil to protect the transistor you are using to drive it.

thanks. i have a diode with the relay to protect my transistor. Other than that do i need to put anything in the coil of water solenoid.
 
The answer is no. Coils are quite robust and you should have no way to exceed the voltage or current specs. But without seeing a schematic there is no way to tell what you are up to.
