2*16 dot matrix lcd datasheet

hi all
i have a quite old lcd 2*16 dot matrix but i cannot find datasheet for it
one told me , all 2*16 dot matrix lcds have the same pin layout
so please i want to make sure if this is true or not
and if true , could anyone please supply me with a datasheet for any 2*16 dot matrix lcd

thanks for your interest
but this is a 4*20 lcd
mine is 2*16
and the layout is a little different from the one i have
mineis 18 pin not 16
afterall

i only want to know the pins layout

18 is unusual, standard 2x16 displays are 14 pin or 16 pin depending on whether backlighting is available. You'll need to post a photo or part number.

Hi Saeed,
Look at the 2 attached files. They refer to standard hd44780 controlled lcd's. Hope this helps
