16F870 to LCD character changes.

I need to find someone who can change a bit of code in a 16F870 that controls a generic 16 X 2 Display. In my line of work I sort of am stuck in analogue electronic design and have never really got into pic chips.

Can someone help?

Is it asm, C, basic or some other language?
Why doesn't it work as is?
Has the hardware changed?
Can you post the code?
Are you able to program a chip if you get working code?

What happened is that these where done a long time ago and the business name has changed, I just need it to pop up with ABC instead of XYZ.
