12v 6A > 5v 6A regulator

Hi
I need to convert a 12v powersupply to 5v 6a so i can use for a led sign.
What would be the best / cheapest way to do this?

try DC step down converter...
for higher Current rating just coupling any power transistor. like 2N3055
try LM317 instead.

If you use a linear regulator you'll have to fit a huge heatsink (or a heatsink and fan) to dissipate 42W.

It'd be better to use a SMPS / buck converter, e.g. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Waterpr...Down-Converter-Module-Car-Power-/141074760812 or **broken link removed** which supply up to 10A @ 5V, and are cheap.
