1.5V LED circuit

Is this true? can a LED light up with 1.5V AA cell for 12 months??Will the battery work for 1 year???Has anybody tried this......

any suggesions

I built a flasher previously using an LM3909 LED flasher IC (now obsolete)..
With an N cell it ran for about 12 weeks.. An alkaline D cell kept it running for almost 3 years!....
