    Technics SA-DX940 "Overload" issue

Unfortunately, the full manual was only available as a printed copy, but the schematic is freely available on-line. I would suggest a possible capacitor failure, such as C774 or C775 - I presume those are to do with the power ON muting?, but it could be elsewhere. It's perhaps allowing the...

Faulty heat air gun (dc motor) - problem to locate fault due to Intermittent fault [unrepairable]

Where I now work (for the last seven plus years) we have a Bosch heatgun, which we use every day for heat shrinking - it was there before me as well, and the owner (and old friend of mine) said he got through numerous cheap heatguns before buying the Bosch, the cheap ones barely lasted a year if...

Sump pit water alarm - Kicad 9

Unfortunately the people using the equipment are generally pretty well non-technical, and are doing a fairly hard and miserable job, working through the night in the pouring rain in mud filled holes isn't a very pleasant experience. So 'errors' are fairly common, such as putting delicate...

Need Help with TDA7294 Stereo Amplifier

Presumably it depends how hard you drive it?, but I assume with no heatsink at all you wouldn't be able to run it at any worthwhile volume - but bolting it to a decent metal chassis might be all that's required?. Here's a link to a video about the Leak Stereo 70, a highly regarded amplifier...

Need Help with TDA7294 Stereo Amplifier

It really depends what you're trying to do?, their output isn't 100W anyway, it's only 60/70W RMS at a fairly high distortion of 0.5%. However, by bridging two of them, thus using four, you could get 120/140W in to 8 ohms - bridging doesn't increase power, it allows the same power to a different...

Sump pit water alarm - Kicad 9

We replaced a commercial float switch, on a pump used by the water companies - the switch was on the end of a rubber cable, in a sealed unit, and they had managed to damage the cable. We managed to locate the manufacturer of the pump, and the float assembly was available as a complete unit along...

Modern PIC's have such a bewildering array of configuration options that's it's difficult to get them set correctly, I find it's worth using the MCC to set the options, then cut and paste the section of code.

I've stuck my scope on a working example I've got here, using a 16F18446 - although I'm finding it hard to sync to - I did eventually manage to get a stored frame, and the pulses are about 300nS, and the gaps just under 1uS. So 800nS and 350nS sounds about right. Unfortunately, I can't seem to...

Same thing, turn skew OFF on RC2 :D - assuming the processor in question has skew control?, the skew is an I/O pin function, not a peripheral one.

    Epson crystal oscillators

OK, bit of an update, I've just removed the xtal oscillators and MAX232's from the last four boards for the guy next door :D He's been pushing the German company who manufactured the boards (using the last few PCB's from the company they took over - they have neither the gerber files for the...

Most modernish PIC's have skew control, and it's ON by default - if you're running fast SPI this messes it up, and you need to set it to OFF for the SPI pins.

Sounds a pretty silly idea, why not just download the working MicroChip examples?.
