The programming software says that everthing is OK and it still will not operate running PIC in test
If I use another PIC it programs OK and works OK

I am programming a 16f877 with PicBasic at the moment programming size is just over 4500 words, I use Bonny Gijzen Pic Prog.. and the JDM programmer all seems to work OK .
As I write the prog I keep testing what I have written erasing the PIC and reprogramming. But...

I got interest in programming and started with the 16F84A using Picbasic.
followed the diagram on how to make it run it worked fine that was:
4.7K resister on the MCLR pin to 5Volts
Vss to ground
Vdd to 5 volt liine and decoupled with a .1 to ground
Osc1 and osc2 4 meg crystal...
