Help with My Year 11 Coursework

Well I managed to get the circuit working! All it needed was 2 of the capacitors changing as they were broken/damaged. Man that's a relief. But thanks for the advice everyone. But because the LEDs are different colours the lower resistance ones kept blowing. So I just replaced them with clear...

A bit late to change circuit now, sorry.

@blueroomelectronics: Can't you just use a 4k7 resistor for LEDs? And yes he does teach electronics.

Help with My Year 11 Coursework

Yes I have actually made the circuit. I went through 3 circuits which didn't work when I bread boarded and my teacher couldn't get them to work so then I used the one off the worksheet which pupils had used before. So I didn't have time to breadboard the circuit and went straight onto the PCB...

Default value for the component (signal generator) when adding it in livewire. The whole idea is to simulate the circuit using livewire, and it works with those values.

Ooh heh I can't really increase the frequency. The signal comes from an MP3 player 3.5mm jack. So what goes in is what you get.

Help with My Year 11 Coursework

@blueroomelectronics: How should I light a single LED? I have tried it with 1.5V straight through it but my teacher told me off because he said the current could damage it. But what is weird about these LEDs is you cannot light it by putting +V on the plus leg and -V on the minus leg. You have...

Woooah I'm only 16. But nevertheless I didn't provide a circuit diagram of what I actually did. Here is my livewire circuit diagram (only difference is the LEDs have 3 rows): **broken link removed** Also i've attatched my livewire file

"Do not put LEDs in parallel with each other. Although this usually works, it is not reliable. LEDs become more conductive as they warm up, which may lead to unstable current distribution through paralleled LEDs. LEDs in parallel need their own individual dropping resistors. Series strings can...

They are different voltages?? How do you know? But true they could be. Four of them are a different type and are brighter. But at the moment there isn't enough voltage at the output track to light up any LEDs.

Yeah, the diode was turned around so it has the correct orientation. I was going to mention this but I got frustrated because my posts had to be moderated before they appeared so I couldn't edit my post. Also the top 2 pads of the switch are connected, I forgot to add it to the PCB mask. The...

Help with My Year 11 Coursework

@colin55: My Bad, When I made the PCB on PCB Wizard I didn't know which way to put in. On my actual PCB it is the other way round. This is the best image I have of my PCB at the moment: **broken link removed** @bigkim100: I have abandoned the idea of including the speaker and just filled in...

Help with My Year 11 Coursework

Hi I am making a sound sensitive disco light for my Year 11 Coursework project in Electronics. We started working on the practical about 12 weeks ago and now there's only one week left to finish it! After populating my PCB my teacher has been testing and fault finding my PCB for over 3 weeks...
