why 5t? Is that so you fully know that the capacitor has reached capactitance? And is .63 standard? I know 5t is standard. But is .63? Can I use it with all types of capactiors? Thank you for your help and time spent on writing a reply to help me understand basic electronics more. Thank...
I was reading a how-to-electronics book for begginers, and when they were measuring capacitors and graphing them (power source 9V battery).
So why oh why do they say .63? The book says (and I quote):
"We can calculate any rising exponential curve's time constant, where a value of 0.63 times...
Okay...I've decided to go ahead with this. But as I've been pricing out some of the more hard to find parts (Like the two 68uf 25V tantalum capacitors, the two 10 Ohm, 5 Watt Resistors, the two 180 Ohm, 1 Watt resistors, and the two: "WHERE-THE-HECK-DO-I-FIND-THESE-?-HEP 154 Silicon Diodes".)...
wow. Hey, thank you "bog", I really appreciate you telling straight out. I see your point and I do cherish life. I will think about it and let you all know.
 Ummm...Now I'm scared. Should I wear rubber boots or something? Or just not plug it in until im done. But then how do I test it during the building process? Should I even attempt this? Please let me know. Thank you for your time.
That is very "enlightning". And yes I don't know why this circuit works. I am very inexpeirienced. Also, I want to know if this will drain the car battery when it is on. (I don't think so because of the alternator) But I don't think it should. Anyway if thats all the advice you can give me...
Thank you but....
Whoa! Thanks a lot for that diagram but I don't know how to make a PCB board. I was just gonna use a regular board(the board with the copper circles and a lot of holes) from radioshack. I'm just a begginer and still don't understand this diagram...
Here is the link. I'm a begginer and I'd like to know how to follow this diagram with these parts. It would be really helpful if someone could help me here. Thank you very much for your time.
