I can see it is a mosfet transistor, but it say reguator also. Can someone tell me what a "field effect mos transistor" is/does and is there a nte p/n or a replacement p/n so I can pick it up from my local electronics store. Thanks for any help.

The Mosfet's spec's are complete and you can find a replacement with the same spec's. It doesn't say it is a regulator, converter or motor driver, it says it can be used for those applications.
You don't say what it is for, so maybe it should be matched to another one.
Did you fix the problem that caused it to fail? Or else the replacement will also fail.
If you're in the UK... good luck. This country is terrible for sourcing MOSFET suppliers. I buy from the USA instead, and am currently trying to get some more obscure ones from China.
