hi guys,

I have 600W High pressure Sodium Lamp with a ballast connected to the main power, 220VAC.
Now, I like to control the input voltage or the current and I'm thinking of using an electronic dimmer to save electricity

Is it possible to control the voltage or the current for this type of lamp?
If it is possible, what type of dimmer can I use. Any suggestion.

Thanks

I am no expert on this - but I suspect that you will need something like a fluorescent lamp dimmer - fluoro lamps and metal halide lamps work on similar sort of principles.

Generally, regular dimmers don't work on fluoros, so they probably won't work on sodium, either.
