Ok thanks guys for the help I really appreciate it. Just one question. When I change it to 4071 must I use 3 or gates instead of 3 nor gates? Just a simple yes or no will do.

You can use either OR or NOR gates.
Look at the attachment to my post #34.
This shows the 2 options.

It is your choice.
