Hi,
What's the difference between press and depress?
Eg. This will happen when you press/depress the button...
Is there a difference?
If there is, is it considering the release half (or way back) in the process of your finger pressing and releasing the button?

does that mean depress means you have to release?

Only time I have seen the 2 terms used to imply a different meaning ( and in my opinion a bad use of language ) was in the case of push button switches that you push to turn on ( press ) and then re-push to turn off( depress ). These switches were the mechanically latching types that have the contacts latch, but the button returns to the fully extended position.
