I'm a second year ND electronics sutdent and need a little help.

I'm planning on building a device that will be able to move an object left and right along a desk.
I would like it to be wireless. Controlled from around 6 meters away.

Has any one got any good sites or know the names of any books that could help me out, as I'm a student my funds are low so I can't really afford to splash out on expensive books.

Thanks for the help.......................

I think the only problem here is that you need a good RF transceiver. But if you don't have money, and know nothing about RF schemes, you can buy a 27MHz remote control toy car made in China. It has itself a 2 channel remote control work at 27MHz, and it's as cheap as 6USD.

You use this remote control to build your project, and you don't have to care anything about wireless control anymore.

However, if you means you will use WLAN to control, I don't have experiences on this.
