LCD....2x16...

I have just hooked up my LCD think and wired it up correctly..

But when i want to display something on it it works in that way that i see changing things ...

when i look @ the display i only see oooss and / and other ****...

what could be the problem of this..??

are there any test routines..??

What kind of driver chip does it have?

Post the 'lcd setup' part of your program, and the 'send to display' part.

First check that the data bus is set right 4-bit or 8-bit.
Are you using a busy check?

a sch would also be helpful.

well..

it was easy because of the fact that the initialization was good...

(i saw moving of chars...) it should be some thing whit the data lines..

and what hapened...??

i had switched the order of them...

i use proton + compiler etc..

and then portb.0 was selected but the lowest 4bit pin must be connected to porb.0 and dataline 7 of the lcd tot portb.3...

that was the fault..now it works good..:D
