i have a sony str-d515 "audio/video control center" (home cinema)
but i just use it in stereo operation. but the problem is that the left rihgt balance has worn out so the left channel will not work properly with the right channel. so my idea aws that i would replace the pot with fixed resistors but i dont know how to identiy the the two channels

I can only tell you the signal directions but not the actual connection.

So "1" can be going to "A" or "B" and the same is true for "2".

Hopefully someone here can tell you exactly.

You can also tell if you have a multimeter by turning the pot to the center and measure the resistance values from "1" to both "A" and "B". The correct paths should have very low resistance.
