Hi guys. I was wondering if any of you had a verroboard layout for a programmer that can do the 16F628A.. (preferably by rs232)

I have already built the micro-JDM programmer but unfortunately if cannot program the 16f628a...its for 16f84 series only...

if you can suggest some modification of this would be a nice alternative too.(I have no idea of the programming protocols used..)

thanks a lot. awaiting your replies.

If you can use a Paralellport programmer i have veroboard layout of the P16PRO40 programmer. It's a very good programmer together with Nigel's WinPicProg software

hi all :)
if we use parallel port programmer should we use some specific .dll file or some thing like that other than downloading software, in windows xp.

Mr. oy2l if you have such veroboard layout can upload it?

Thank you all for you replies. And super respects to Mr. Nigel Goodwin. I really appreciate your work.

Well, in fact, i built this above circuit. It is a DERiVATIVE of the JDM, specific for 16X84 series chips... It has only one transistor and one diode+resistors.. It works great for the 16F84A.

BUT.

It cannot program the 16F628... Can anybody provide a 'fix', or mod, for this programmer to do the 16f628?

thx.

Thanks. I will try it ASAP. But it seems that, from the programming specs., connecting pin 10(PGM) to Vss enables High voltage programming. Is the above programmer high voltage?

Good question.

Before I answer, can you tell me whether 16F84 or 16F84a can be programmed using low voltage?

How to program PIC

pls i'm new to pic programming.pls i need help on how to program pic16fxxx with a software.how to connect the ic to the pc for programming.
