Weird ways of going green... whats yours?

Blog entry posted in 'Uncategorised', July 02, 2010.

Hi, i wanted to know about weird ways that one could go 'green' with. I didn't know where to place this topic so put it here. To start things off, here is one weird way that i supposedly go green.

I use the water from the airconditioner to water my plant. That way i get around the scarcity of water that we face during the summer. In winter there is always enough water. :)

Well, one of my friends family , when they take a shower or bath, they always save the water in the bath tub for flushing the toilet. this will help to reduce their monthly water bill! :)

Well i save around 15 litres of water in total by collecting from two airconditioners. Not only am i conserving water but also keeping plants alive. :) PS: Thanks for replying. I thought this blog post was dead with out ever opening its eyes .

My family also do the shower / bath / washing machine water thing, but the washing machine and bath are sometimes fed with rain water from the roof so double saving! I believe we are down to just a couple of m^3 of water a quarter, the standing charge is more than the water usage. My dad routinely carries buckets of water up the stairs for the toilet.

My pet gerbils chew LOTS of stuff, most of the cardboard we normally would recycle gets chewed by them. Then the chewed up cardboard is used for their bedding. We also donate stuff instead of throwing stuff away.

Hi Ben, a very nice gesture indeed( donating that is). :)

In summer morning,my aunt always put a pail of water outside to absorb the heat, so in the evening she needn't heat any water but have a warm water bath.
