New scope: Kenwood cs-6040

Blog entry posted in 'Teardowns', June 12, 2013.

Hey all, i got new scope to my lab, i'll write little about it, as i find it quite cool. So,it's kenwood cs-6040, 150mhz/4chan CRT scope. It's fully operational too! well, at least it seems so that is....But, what is good about it, is that the screen shows all information pretty much needed, voltage/time div knobs settings, on illuminated axis/screen. 2 of 4 channels have full voltage sensitivity adjustment/dc/ac/gnd, but 2 ''extra'' ones have only 0.1/0.5v settings but not even gnd, at least i couldn't find it. But, afterall, 4 channel use is pretty rare.
Also, i couldn't find magnification setting on voltage/div on any channels. Plus, it has single-shot ability.

Knobs on voltage/time seems to be rotary encoders, they don't feel like rotary switches. Many pushbuttons are illuminated, to tell which setting is on, pretty nice.
Trigger options and settings are numerous, don't even know what all means, like tv-line, tv-frame and such....

Inside this scope was, well, huge amount of components.....74 logics, all cind of caps etc etc....and memories for programming (?) Yes, this device has programming, don't know for what, and i don't want to tingle around with it, not without manuals!

Gotta buy couple probes and bnc-banana adaptors....

But, that's pretty much all i can tell about this, thanks for reading, discussion welcome! :)
