Hi, i finally made my first LED light, i couldn't do it before cause i was not able to think of a proper casing to hold the LEDs in and all. But than i i found one of those wall switchboard sockets(in which the switchboards are screwed in and designed ti use it to hold my LED light board). It uses nine 8mm LEDs which consume around 23ma of current. For the supply i used an old nokia charger whose charging pin was broken so i cut it off(i was surprised it was giving 6v instead of the 5 i was expecting it to). Its very very simple but just marks a start and a direction.

Good one.... i also made such lamp(study lamp) using old faulty nokia charger it gives 7V instead of 5v, here i used 18 power led's(smd's) it gives o/p equivalant to 11watt cfl....

i don't buy smd leds i get 12v strip and converted it into 7v now days that commonly used for decorating cars and 2 wheelers.
