hi guys im just wondering how a zener diode works in a certian circuit i know that it is a reversed bias diode and gives a avanlance voltage in a
circuit..
Im wondering how this diode maintain a given voltage even if it the input is low or high it still gives its given output...
Zener diodes go into avalanche breakdown, provided the voltage across it exceeds the breakdown voltage. If you take a look at its V-I characteristics, the breakdown portion is extremely steep. In other words, it can take any amount of current with minor changes in voltage. Looking from another perspective, the voltage is maintained relatively constant.
