These people were home and even looking out their window. If they wanted the thing, they would've come running out the door, stopping me. Besides, it was somewhat dismantled and I will need to pick up a couple of metric screws to secure things better. I always make sure not to overly disturb a pile as that too would upset me as a homeowner. It's one thing to have an animal root around, but I've had my garbage piles turned inside out by some trash divers... and sometimes the refuse truck driver won't take the extra time to clean up the needless mess.
