The British are called "limeys", and I was wondering if you thought this is offensive at all?

The Aussies call the English Pom apparently.

Why would anyone care, it's hardly something you ever hear these days, and as it refers to the reason that Great Britain was the worlds most successful naval power, and created the worlds largest empire, it's probably a compliment?.

Many immigrants from "a certain country" come to Canada crippled with crooked legs. Maybe they had a Vitamin C deficiency in their youth.

Isn't that what they call limes disease ? More vodka please.

@AG
You are probably referring to disorder called rickets, which is due to lack of vitamin D. Vitamin C deficiency causes scurvy. Kraut (as in sauerkraut) is another source of vitamin C and is also a name affectionately applied to a particular nationality.

John

@jpanhalt: as soon as I saw kraut, I knew who you were thinking of :)

EDIT: AG, do you know of any good 741 op amp links (projects, etc), because I found about 10 LM348's, quad 741's :)

Reminds me of River Rhine. which also is my seg-way to Rhine of water melon researchers have found it be equal viagra .......... ha ha how about that.

I know what to bring on the picnic for two (la water melon) ooo la la. And don't forget the wine.

i heard some brits call each other "******." whats that mean? also, how many of you celebrate the queen's birthday?

will any of you celebrate prince william of henry's crowning?

It is hot as hell and very sunny in the country where immigrants are crippled with crooked legs.

The sun makes vitamin D. I think those people have a deficiency of all vitamins and minerals (and protein). In Canada vitamin D is added to milk because the sun does not always shine. The crippled people have cows running in their streets.

A ****** is an insult to a guy who doesn't have a girl friend or wife.

I remember in 'married with children' peg's maiden name was '******', which is an offensive term for someone who pleasures himself. strange.

Must be mexico

There are very few Mexicans in Canada. Most are in California and Texas.
I don't know if Mexicans "wank" more than other guys without a girlfriend or wife.

Gas prices are coming down tonight.

So far as I know, bowed legs and wanking have nothing in common. If you really are interested in problems related to vitamin D deficiency and skeletal deformities in Canadian immigrants, Wikipedia has a decent write-up about it:

Vitamin D - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The problem you are seeing is most likely not due to lack of sunlight, even in Canada, but to poor nutrition in the home country. Vitamin D is one of the more interesting vitamins from a both a biological and evolutionary standpoint. The wiki article goes into some detail about its biochemistry. From an evolutionary standpoint, ask yourself how such a strange pathway could develop and provide any survival advantage?

wikipedia said:
Nutrition
Only fish is naturally rich in vitamin D, so much vitamin D intake in the industrialised world is from fortified products including milk, soy milk and breakfast cereals or supplements.

I think the affected people, particularly the children, need to be helped and not referred to as cripples. Vitamin D supplements are not expensive and should not be expensive to provide to every child on earth. Unfortunately, ignorance, religious beliefs, and political corruption can thwart the best of efforts to provide such aid. John

When i said "immigrants to Canada from a certain country" I didn't think about the Muslim momen wearing burquas so that they are entirely covered and probably have a severe vitamin D defifiency unless they take a supplement.

I am elderly and I am living in a country that has only a small amout of weak sunshine in the winter. Therefore I am at risk of a deficiency! I better gobble some vitamin D pills each winter. It is too late for the crippled people.
