Wiring a 4-pin switch

Hello, I recently found an old VCR and decided to take the faceplate apart -- only to find a trillion little components that I could use.

I see many small push button switches, with 4 pins like you see here:

But I am not too sure how to connect it to any circuit. Let's say I have an LED, and I want to power it when the switch is pressed. Which pin would I connect the voltage too? The led? Or do I need to use all 4?

Thanks,
Omar

You'll find that you have two sets of two legs joined together.
A simple check with a meter will tell you which two to use.

Hopefully you have a multimeter, it's easy enough to check out exactly which leads to use using the continuity feature.
