wireless transmitter & receiver with audible warning

Hi

I have to help out my daughter do a small project in school and entails
the following:
she has to have a wireless transmitter and receiver and when separated
one from each other say 2 or 3 metres and audible sound is emitted, by any one of them, when a certain distance apart is reached.
could anybody please be of help to maybe design a small circuit or draw one for me as to how i can perform this project? and what components to use?
